Are you in the mood for a dance? Well, now’s your chance to bust out your best moves and go back to the '70s with ABBA Voyage.
After 40 years off stage, you can now see the Swedish supergroup reunite and perform their classic hits in one unforgettable concert experience. Described as "jaw-dropping" by fans, ABBA Voyage combines live music with virtual reality to create a unique, immersive show.
Through the powers of modern technology, you’ll see Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid looking and sounding just as they did when they first shot to stardom in 1974. To explain how, the team at RadioTimes.com have put together this handy guide with everything you need to know about the concert, including price, location and how to buy.
Since debuting Waterloo at the Eurovision Song Contest, ABBA has earned a place as one of the biggest bands of all time with hits like Dancing Queen, Angel Eyes and, of course, Mamma Mia becoming part of the cultural zeitgeist. Over the years, the group has had many number one hits and is thought to have sold between 150 million to 385 million records worldwide.
ABBA has also had very public differences over the years, with two divorces splitting them up in 1982. But in 2017, talks of a virtual concert began and by 2021 they officially reunited to record the Voyage album, featuring new songs Don't Shut Me Down and Little Things.

Now, you can see these new songs meet old hits from ABBA Gold for the legendary band's last hurrah. How could you ever refuse? Here’s what you need to know about the experience.

What is ABBA Voyage?
How does abba voyage work, where is the abba voyage arena, how much are abba voyage tickets, what are the best seats at abba voyage, how long is the abba voyage concert, how to buy abba voyage tickets.
ABBA Voyage is a live concert performed entirely by CGI versions of the four members of ABBA. The singers don’t appear in person but have instead recorded their voices and body movements to be transformed into 3D avatars (or ABBAtars).
Together, the reunited couples sing 22 of their greatest hits including Voulez-Vous, Lay All Your Love on Me and Thank You for the Music. They also perform perfectly choreographed dances and play virtual instruments, all the while getting backed by a live 10-piece band.
The show runs every Thursday to Monday with concerts usually taking place at 3pm or 7:45pm. In the audience, you can party from a seat, or book a spot on the dancefloor in the middle where you’ll find the other dancing queens. You can also hire a private booth for you and your super troop.
ABBA Voyage is currently running until November 2024, so don’t let this chance slip through your fingers and read on to find out how to get tickets.
The four avatars were created and designed by Industrial Light & Magic, a visual effects company responsible for the CGI in the Star Wars and Marvel films. With motion capture technology, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid appear life-like on stage to perform the full setlist, complete with singing, dancing and piano-playing.
All members of the band were involved in the creation of the concert, which makes it unsurprising that the avatars are younger versions of themselves. But with the lighting, sound, and cutting-edge special effects, you’d never know that nearly 50 years had passed since they first stepped onto the stage at Eurovision.
The singing was done by the present-day band members who performed the 22-song set over the course of five weeks while wearing motion-capture suits. The choreography is also based on the Swedes’ real movements but was actually filmed by younger body doubles. Then, on the night, all of this is put together into one seamless projection and is backed by a real band.

The ABBA Arena is a temporary building that was entirely purpose-built for this project. It sits in Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford (where the 2012 Olympics took place) - and with a big light-up ABBA sign on the front, it’s pretty hard to miss.
The nearest station is Pudding Mill Lane, which is available on the DLR, but you can also go to Stratford station (on the Jubilee, Central, Elizabeth, DLR and Overground lines) and Stratford International (which has National Rail services).
The only car parking at the venue is 10 blue badge spaces that need to be booked in advance. The building is also entirely accessible for wheelchair users, with accessible tickets and accessible companion tickets available to buy online.

We know you work all night and day to pay the bills you have to pay, so we’ve broken down the different prices you’ll find at ABBA Voyage.
There are four types of tickets you can book: auditorium seating, accessible seating, dance floor and dance booths. Within that, prices range depending on the date you want to book and where you choose to sit.
Here are the base prices for each ticket:
- Auditorium Seating – from £67
- Dance Floor – from £91
- Dance Booths – from £159.50
- Accessible Seats – from £67
There's a lot of questions about where you should sit at ABBA Voyage and, really, there's no one answer. If you're looking for a boogie, then we'd recommend the Dance Floor or a Dance Booth. But if you're looking to relax, reports have said that the best place to sit is Block H, specifically the centre section – from there, you should have a perfect view of the ABBAtars, but won't feel like you're too far from the stage.
The concert lasts for approximately 90 minutes with no interval. In that time, the ABBAtars will sing, dance and play their way through the full mega mix from Honey, Honey to Money, Money, Money.
Doors also open one hour and 45 minutes before the concert, so if you want to arrive early and get yourself in the dancing mood, you can take full advantage of the bar areas.
You can buy ABBA Voyage tickets from a number of official ticketing partners, including Ticketmaster , See Tickets and London Theatre Direct . All sites have good availability in the coming months so you’ve got lots of options for dates.
Shows run all week except Tuesdays and Wednesdays and are currently available to book until the end of November 2024.

ABBA’s ‘Voyage’ Virtual Concert to Go on Tour ‘Around the World’

ABBA’s ‘Voyage’ virtual concer t — which opened in a specially built London arena last May and has sold more than 1 million tickets — will go on a global tour, Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge confirmed during the company’s earnings call on Thursday.
“Plans are now in development to take ‘ ABBA Voyage’ around the world,” Grainge said on the call. Presumably, that means the show will be playing in specially modified arenas in major cities across the globe. Contacted by Variety, reps for ABBA and Universal, the group’s label, did not immediately have further information.
Reviewing “ABBA Voyage” opening night for Variety, Mark Sutherland wrote, “At first, the movements seem a little too jerky, the lines a little too obvious. But then, just as when you saw the initially-somewhat-unconvincing dinosaurs in ‘Jurassic Park’ for the first time, your eyes adjust, the willing suspension of disbelief kicks in, and they begin to feel like living, breathing musicians, rather than the product of 160 motion capture cameras and one billion computing hours by Industrial Light & Magic.”
The group’s Benny Andersson told Variety, “Everything, from ILM’s work to the lighting to the sound is amazingly beautiful. It’s the best sound you’ve heard in an arena ever, I promise you that. That has been my department. I mean, the music is my department, the band sound. All the people who work with this have been wonderful. But the technique has nothing to do with the show. You sit there and you see a band on stage and that’s what it is.”

ABBA Voyage live show will be extended until late 2023 - all the ticket info

By Tom Eames
The ABBA ‘Voyage’ concert event has been extended to November 2023 due to high demand from fans.
The live show - which has received universal acclaim - takes place at Queen Elizabeth’s Olympic Park in London, and features avatar versions of ABBA .
ABBA Voyage launched back in May, and won instant plaudits from critics and fans alike thanks to the lifelike depictions of the 'ABBA-tars', which were created using motion capture technology from the real musicians.

At the premiere, it was the first time in 36 years that Benny Andersson , Agnetha Fältskog , Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus were seen as a group together in public.
The show was originally scheduled to run until December 2022, but was later extended to May 2023.
The 90-minute show runs seven times a week. You can get tickets here .
Abba reunite in London for first time since 1982 for Voyage concert
Smooth Radio's very own Paul Phear was in attendance at the premiere, and was wowed by the spectacle. He said at the time:
"There should be an announcement as you enter the new ABBA Arena in Stratford.. “ladies and gentlemen we will soon be landing in 1979 so please turn back your watches 43 years. Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride”. Because however they’ve done it, and like a magician’s illusion it’s probably best not to know, the greatest pop band are back and in their prime.
"Of course we know it’s not ‘them’ IRL (in real life) but they really do seem to exist IVRL (in virtual real life) occupying the space, interacting with each other and the audience. Technically it’s miraculous. Add to the mix a live ten-piece band, a mobile light show that fills the arena, huge HD concert-style video screens, hundreds of high-quality sound speakers around the auditorium and, well, my my how can you resist it?
"And I haven’t even mentioned the songs yet. 100 minutes of just about every hit you’d list as essential, some fan favourites and 'Don’t Let Me Down' and 'I Still Have Faith in You' from last year's Voyage album. There are a couple of animated cartoon sequences that are, like in every live show, a bit of a lull (time to visit the bar) but very soon the avalanche of perfect pop sweeps everyone up and out of their seats.
"Cast any doubt aside, this is an absurdly enjoyable and emotional reunion with the way they were then and if you were lucky enough to be alive in 1979, yourself."

About ABBA Voyage Tickets
ABBA Voyage description
Abba voyage – abba on stage in london.
Make your way to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Oceanbird Lounge on the main concourse of the ABBA Arena to see one of the world’s greatest ever bands on stage in a concert that has taken decades plus the birth of new technologies to create. This is the best Abba concert the planet has never seen!
Abba Voyage tickets – A legend in the making
Abba Voyage blends cutting-edge tech with awe-inspiring lighting to showcase some of the best-loved tunes ever penned. It all began back in 1974 when Abba won Eurovision at the Brighton Dome with one of the best songs ever written, Waterloo. They went on to release a zillion pop tunes that changed the world forever, and we’re still playing them at weddings, parties, nightclubs and at home fifty years later.
Now ABBA takes to the stage in a vivid new way in a dramatic purpose-built arena, in the form of the band’s digital avatars. Described as ‘ground-breaking’ by Metro, the gig needs to be seen to be believed. Your mind will be blown.
See Abba’s avatars in Abba Voyage
Together the original members, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid, have created the kind of concert they always wanted, performing for their fans at the unique digital best, supported by the best musicians in the business. It’s all down to the latest motion capture technology, and the impact is simply stunning.
The director is Baillie Walsh , who thrilled us with Springsteen & I . The choreographer is Wayne McGregor and lighting designer is Matthieu Debay . Welcome to a solid 90 minutes of pop music heaven, a massive feel-good factor of an experience you’ll remember forever. It’s literally awe-inspiring.
All about Abba Voyage – It feels so real!
They were – and still are - one of the most popular and successful musical groups of all time, one of the best-selling music acts in the history of pop, and they topped the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982.
In the early 2020s, they held a reunion that kick-started the phenomenon all over again, bringing joy to millions more people. In November 2021 Abba received a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year for their single, I Still Have Faith in You, lifted from the album ‘Voyage’. It was their first nomination and it might just be one of the best-deserved nominations of all time.
The digital versions of the band members are inspired by the way they actually move and perform in real life. Disney’s Hollywood special effects company - Industrial Light & Magic – used the data to create stunning, full size avatars that perform live with the band. It sounds extraordinary, and it is. No wonder the Guardian calls it ‘jaw dropping’ and the Mirror says ‘it was as though they were in the room’.
Tickets for Abba Voyage available now
ABBA has sold almost 400 million albums. They’ve had 17 number one hits and get more than 16 million weekly global streams. Their beloved tunes, including 'Waterloo', 'The Winner Takes It All', 'Dancing Queen' and 'Super Trouper', are the soundtrack of every generation from 1974 onwards. And this concert is simply spectacular. Don’t miss it.

I expeted more, it’s like a glorified concert movie. Half the time there is not even a Hologram of ABBA, just regular video or a cartoon (why?). The faces show barely any emotion, you can tell that it’s fake. Which becomes glaringly obvious as soon as a real video of Waterloo is shown. Not worth the money.

I’ve never seen a show like that before and I think it’s the wave of the future. I knew about half of the songs, as I’m not a diehard fan of ABBA but we were on our feet for Dancing Queen by the end! That’s my only reluctance to recommending the show - not everyone is an ABBA fan and it would take convincing for them to see the show.

As ABBA fans, we had great expectations for this show. The experience is somewhat surreal and a mix of the out of this world awesome, mixed with the reality of holograms actually conducting the performance. An unexpected surprise was having three live singers and backing orchestra, which added to the atmosphere. The sound and lighting and venue are incredible. The ushers need to be more strict on ensuring inebriated patrons in the tiered seated areas are not continually standing up from their seats and blocking the view of those behind....the dedicated dancing area in front of the stage is for that purpose and a group of 4 patrons nearby should have been moved to that area. While the show as a whole met and mostly exceeded expectations, 90 minutes seems a very short period of time for the amount charged. An intermission would better accomodate toilet and drink needs and ensure patrons are not continually moving around during the show. Just a personal view that some of the songs seemed an odd choice and did not seem to engage the audience as a whole and finishing with the Winner Takes It All, finished the show on a somewhat sombre note, rather than an upbeat everyone on their feet Dancing Queen or Super Trouper, the latter of which was not included at all. No disrespect to Agnetha though we were unclear as to why one of her songs from her solo album is relevant to the group and show as a whole? It certainly did not receive the thunderous applause given to better known songs they did as a group, during their epic career. In summary a must see show for any Abba fan and we did not leave disappointed.

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on Friday (Jan 19) that there were "no active ongoing negotiations with ABBA Voyage", a virtual concert experience by Swedish pop group ABBA that was named in a corruption charge faced by former Transport Minister S Iswaran.
In response to queries from CNA about the status of the show here, an STB spokesperson said: "To refresh Singapore's tourism offerings, STB regularly explores bringing new acts and attractions from around the world to Singapore.
"ABBA Voyage is one such act that STB was exploring. There are no active ongoing negotiations with ABBA Voyage."
The statement did not say if discussions to hold ABBA Voyage concerts in Singapore had begun.
Iswaran was charged in court on Thursday with multiple offences, months after a probe into him was made public. Out of the 27 charges he is facing, two are under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
One of the corruption charges states that, in December 2022, Iswaran, in his capacity as a government minister, corruptly obtained gratification from property tycoon Ong Beng Seng in exchange for advancing his business interests in matters relating to two contracts.
One of these was a proposal for a contract with STB to establish ABBA Voyage in Singapore. Iswaran allegedly obtained a private plane ride from Singapore to Doha, a night's stay at the Four Seasons Doha and a business class flight from Doha to Singapore in exchange for the favour.
Instead of featuring ABBA's four members – Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad – in the flesh, ABBA Voyage concerts feature projections of their avatars, which were created with the aid of motion-capture technology.
The concerts are currently running in an arena in London built specifically for the show.
Media outlets previously reported that the producers of ABBA Voyage were in talks to bring the show to other cities, including Singapore, following its success in London.
Ulvaeus had also indicated in a video interview that he had been in Singapore, which he described as a "very interesting place" to build a replica of the ABBA Voyage arena in London, suggesting that the show might be brought to Singapore.
CNA has reached out to the Universal Music Group, the corporation that owns ABBA's recordings, and Pophouse, ABBA Voyage's lead investor, for comment.

Money, Money, Money! Abba effect brings £322million boost to London
T hey may only be digital dancing queens - and kings - but the four glittery avatars performing every night in front of sell out audiences in east London are pumping serious Money, Money, Money into the capital’s economy.
That is the conclusion of a report into the “socio-economic impact” of the ground breaking Abba Voyage attraction in Stratford published on Thursday just a year and a half after it opened.
The analysis, carried out by strategists Sound Diplomacy and social value consultancy RealWorth, found that the series of concerts at the 3,000 seater Abba Arena contributed £322.6 million in spending, and £177.7 million in extra economic activity - known as GVA - in its first year.
The arena was designed by STUFISH Entertainment Architects.
Abba’s shows began in May 2022 at the £50 million purpose built venue in Pudding Mill Lane and generated more than one million ticket sales - at up to £181.50 each - by the end of the year. That made it the sixth most visited paid attraction in London in 2022.
The show feature digital “Abbatar” versions of the Swedish quartet - Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad - performing a setlist of “bangers” such as Mamma Mia, Voulez-Vous and The Winner Takes it All over a 90 minute run time alongside a live 10 piece band.
They were created through motion capture technology from visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic and appear as their 1979 versions of themselves. The band members themselves are now all in their seventies.
The report - commissioned by the show’s producers - found that the show had siginficant benefits for the surrounding boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest with 42% of the total impact felt in these local authority areas worth a total of £73.7 million in GVA.
The bulk of the impact in the local area was from paying for accommodation, food and drink, transport and shopping with an average spend of £103 per attendee on top of the ticket price, rising to £135 across London as a whole.
The report claims ABBA Voyage has supported more than 5,000 jobs in London, including those directly employed at the venue and those in other sectors that rely on spending by visitors.
The report also highlights how Abba Voyage has drawn thousands of visitors from outside London with almost half the non-ticket spend from “out of towners” coming from elsewhere in the UK and more than 40% from foreign visitors.
Michael Bolingbroke, executive producer for ABBA Voyage , said: “The presence of ABBA Voyage is felt in a way that will be enduring. Knowing that in our first full year, the operations of ABBA Voyage has had an economic impact in London of £322 million is extraordinary, and our challenge will be to maintain and grow this number, and to ensure that its effects are long lasting.”
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “The fantastic success of ABBA Voyage shows once again how London is the music capital of the world and is roaring back from the impact of the pandemic. I am so proud that City Hall was able to help ABBA bring this pioneering show to east London, providing huge benefits to both the local area and London’s wider economy.”
Lyn Garner, Chief Executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “ABBA Voyage has been an amazing success for the area and a vibrant addition to the attractions on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.”

I have a separate Aeroflot ticket I bought with cash for my 7 p.m. flight Saturday to Ulan Bator (ULN) arriving there on Sunday.
I don't have a transit visa and intend to stay in the transit zone for my 4 hour connection. I'm connecting Aeroflot to Aeroflot, so that seems easy to figure out, at least for me and my carry-on. However ...
My quandary: I'm traveling with 2 checked suitcases. For reasons, I won't go into, I can't downsize all that into one carry-on.
Sometimes airlines will through-check a bag when you have separate tickets; sometimes they won't -- it seems to be up to the gate agent.
I'm not sure but Virgin Atlantic check-in may be handled at some airports by their partner, Delta; Delta staff reportedly are more reluctant to through-check bags.
1. If I can't through check my bag to Ulan Bator, is there a way I can claim it in Moscow and recheck it without a Russian transit visa?
2. If I can't re-check my bags in person in Moscow, is there some way to get Aeroflot to do this for me? (Is that legal for them?)
3. If it's impossible to do either of these things in Moscow, might it be possible to check my bag from North America only as far as London, then through-check it there with Aeroflot?
Thanks for any help and advice you can give me.
SVO web site used to explicitly say that if your luggage is checked to SVO you should notify a transfer desk agent and they will do something about it. It does not say so anymore after some web site update. I personally think it should still work this way but I can't provide any proof. Some people say it might be impossible. I don't recall any reports here by people who were in the same situation. I would call Aeroflot and ask all these questions to them.
If I were you, I would make sure that Virgin allows you to board without a Russian visa in the first instance.
> I would make sure that Virgin allows you to board without a Russian visa
For their purposes, the ticket is from Canada to Moscow .
Would be really great if the OP calls both Virgin and Aeroflot and relays here what they tell him.
Actually, everything shold work OK. Please report afterwards...
I originally booked my ATL-LHR-SVO ticket through Delta.
I called Virgin Atlantic and they said they could not check the bag through but then the phone agent suggested maybe I could weasel and plead at ATL for an exception. She also suggested I call Delta and/or Aeroflot.
I called Delta; the phone agent said there'd be no problem checking through to ULN since they are a Skyteam partner with Aeroflot.
I'm still going to get there early in ATL prepared to plead and argue if necessary. I'll report back what happens (however that may have to wait several weeks since I'll be offline in Mongolia).
Did you raise a question of the Russian visa with any of them? I do not want to scare you, and I honestly wish you to have no problem with that, but I personally see it as another vulnerable point in your plan, in addition to travelling on two tickets.
You may wish to read through this thread:
The last post is particularly informative.
I am now in Ulan Bator but without my checked bag. The story is complicated.
I arrived in London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 3 at 0705; SU is in terminal 4. The shuttle bus ran late then lackadaisical LHR security took 30 minutes to resolve a baggage scanner problem. I got to the SU transit desk at 8:25 -- they said I would miss my connection to SVO. I bought a new ticket LHR-SVO so as to no miss my flight to ULN.
As of 1100 when I was boarding my replacement flight , Aeroflot said they had not yet received my bag; Virgin Atlantic sent it to LHR terminal 1 for some reason.
As folks here have pointed out, the Aeroflot transit people at SVO said they routinely pass bags through on Aeroflot-to-Aeroflot connections even if there are two tickets. The passenger just has to ask the Aeroflot transit desk to do this.
On arrival at ULN, I filed a missing bag claim with Aeroflot.
When asked about a Russian visa at check-in counters, I simply showed people my SVO-ULN ticket; they said I was a transit passenger and they did not require a visa.
I could write much more detail about the multiple screw-ups by the LHR airport administration but this is the SVO forum, not the LHR gripe room.
My concluding observations
* This type of baggage connection is governed by the capacity and flexibility of each airline's computer systems.
* Delta and Aeroflot are well integrated and bags can be checked through SVO even if two separate tickets are used.
* Virgin Atlantic is a new Skyteam partner and is not integrated into their systems; passengers using them or other airlines only weakly linked to Aeroflot can get the Aeroflot staff at the transit desk to redirect their bags.
* Transits between terminals and carriers at LHR are problematic; an almost 2-hour layover was insufficient.
* I was favorably impressed by Aeroflot and SVO. I was disappointed by Virgin Atlantic and LHR.
Many thanks to Marassa and Vassily for your helpful comments here; that helped me in dealing with this situation as it unfolded.
I hope this helps others in the future.
Note: I just received a text from Aeroflot as I was typing this post that my bag has arrived at SVO and is available for pickup at SVO. I will follow up with them to get it sent to ULN after I post this. If you don't hear from me again, you can assume my bag arrived in ULN on the next flight .
I Was concerned abt Heathrow I thought that was the weak link in your plans.
