Life is not all about deadlines anyway!

Koyna Agro Tourism also known as Tapola River Camp is a campsite located right on the banks of the Koyna reservoir. Koyna Agro Tourism is amongst the pioneers who started river camps in Tapola.

Tapola is a satellite village of Mahabaleshwar about 25 Kms down the valley. A rustic hamlet famed as the 'Mini Kashmir' Tapola is an ideal destination near Mumbai and Pune for a back to nature experience.

Koyna Agro Tourism has a huge covered dining hall where delicious home made veg and non veg food with the flavor of the land is served. A game center adjoins the dining hall along with wash rooms.

If you are a water sports enthusiast Tapola is the place to head to. Be it boating, water scooter rides, kayaking or swimming the 90Km long water body at the doorstep of the campsite will not make you feel confined.

Koyna Agro Tourism and river camp has luxurious tents AC and non AC cottages and also a dormitory to cater to the varying requirements of its guests. The campsite has ample open spaces to arrange out door activities and also has a indoor game centre.

Accommodation

Koyna Agro Tourism center is a campsite where accommodation is arranged in tents along with attached washrooms equipped with flush toilets. The tents provide all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay during your holidays in Tapola.

Apart from the water based activities that Tapola River Camp offers Tapola is also the base camp for Vasota fort trek in the Koyna wild life sanctuary which is one of the most exhilarating treks that one can go for in Maharashtra.

Tapola famously called the mini Kashmir of the west is a rustic hamlet with a magnificent lake - Shivsagar. Thanks to the remote rural location of Tapola you can see first hand the rural life in all its rustic charm at Tapola.

Tapola is located very close to Mumbai Pune and even Kolhapur making it a popular weekend destination for a short break. Tapola is just about 135 kms from Pune, 245 kms from Mumbai and 200 kms from Kolhapur.

GETTING THERE

By Private Vehicle

If you take your own vehicle or a private taxi and leave Mumbai before 6am , you can make it in just over 3 hours via the Mumbai Pune Expressway to Koyna Revier agro tourism.

If you are coming by State transport bus, take the Satara- Kas- Bamnoli bus, which leaves at regular intervals from platform no. 8 at Satara bus stop. Get off at the Bamnoli village stop. The Koyna River Agro Tourism is a 15 minute walk from the stop. If informed in advance, one of our persons will be waiting at the stop to receive you.

       Vasota is also known as Vyaghragad (fortress of the Tiger). Vasota fort lies within the Koyna sanctuary (total area 423 sq km) Vasota fort is attributed to  the Kolhapur Shilahara Chief Bhoja II (1178–1193) of Panhala.

 Vasota always remained with Marathas, Shirkes & Mores in 16th century. Shivaji incorporated the fort into Swarajya in 1655 during the conquest of Javli. It was famously defended by Tai Telin  a mistress of  Pant Pratinidhi  a killedar of the fort when he was captured.

           Nageshwar temple is a cave underneath the mountain top. There is an old basaltic structure of Lord Nageshwar temple. With the height of 3500 feet, it becomes Vaishno Devi of Maharashtra. It takes 2-3 hours to reach on top. In the trek, you can see the mesmerizing beauty of Koyan weildlife sanctuary . 

          Nageshwar is having a natural water source most of the year, thus it is having importance in Vasota fort trek.Nageshwar temple darshan first and Vasota Fort in second half. We reached to Nageshwar Temple around 1pm. Had a great views of Sahyadri trails and Konkan also had first close look of Vasota Fort. 

DATTA MANDIR

Ek mukhi datta mandir shembadi.

Datta Mandir is a famous place in Satara region. Datta Mandir is famous for their Lord Ek Mukhi Datta. Usually lord Datta has 3 faces but in Datta Mandir there is Ek Mukhi Datta. The statue of Lord Ek Mukhi Datta is very beautiful. The idol of Lord Dattatreya here in the sanctum is different from the idols that we see otherwise. You can also see the Padukas i.e. footwear of Lord Datta here.
