Liam Gallagher will definitely be bringing back an old favorite.

In an Instagram post , the British singer-songwriter, 51, announced the Definitely Maybe 30 Years Tour — a small 2024 string of shows where Gallagher will perform Oasis' former band’s debut LP, Definitely Maybe .

"I'm bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn't be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x," he wrote alongside a tour poster.

The tour is set to launch June 2 in Sheffield and will run through June 27, where it concludes in Manchester.

Liam will also be visiting cities including London, Dublin and Glasgow, Scotland, along the way.

In the post, he revealed that tickets for the tour will go on sale Oct. 20 on Friday, 9 a.m. BST.

Next year's tour will be the first time the "Wall of Glass" musician performed Definitely Maybe since the band split in 2009.

Definitely Maybe , which was released in 1994, solidified Oasis as one of Britpop's biggest stars, producing longtime favorite tracks like "Supersonic," "Live Forever" and "Slide Away.

At the time, it was the fastest-selling debut album in the U.K. ever, and it sold 8.5 million copies worldwide.

Though it seems unlikely Liam's brother and Oasis bandmate Noel will be joining him for any of the dates, but in May, Noel, 56, spoke with SPIN about the prospect of performing the band's debut album.

“If Liam wants to do the show, great. He’s got to make a living and all of that,” he told the outlet. “Keep the flame alive. It’s not something I particularly would be able to put my heart and soul into.”

As Liam told fans who inquired about Noel on X Tuesday, "He’s been asked and he’s refused."

In As Close To An Oasis Reunion As We’re Likely To Get, Liam Gallagher Is Celebrating The Band’s Debut With An Anniversary Tour

Derrick Rossignol

For years now, Oasis fans have been clamoring for the band to reunite, but given the ever-present tension between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher , a comeback doesn’t necessarily seem likely. Perhaps the next best thing is coming soon, though: Today (October 15), Liam announced that he’s celebrating the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe , Oasis’ 1994 debut album, by taking it on tour.

The tour runs throughout June 2024 and includes shows in the UK and Ireland. Dates for the US and other countries have not been announced. Gallagher says he’s performing the album in full, along with “select B-sides from the era.”

It doesn’t appear that Noel will be involved with the tour, but as The Guardian notes , co-founding Oasis member Paul Arthurs (also known as Bonehead) will likely join, as he tours as part of Liam’s band.

Watch the trailer for the tour above and check out the tour dates below. Find more information about tickets here .

Liam Gallagher Confirms Plan to Play Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe’ in Full for 30th Anniversary Shows

Though there's been a lot of reunion talk floating around in 2023, Oasis ' Liam Gallagher has confirmed that he at least will be playing shows celebrating the 30th anniversary of the group's Definitely Maybe album next year.

The reunion talk was heightened earlier this year when Noel Gallagher suggested that Liam's "people" call his "people" if he was serious about a reunion, but so far nothing has come of it other than Liam claiming via Twitter that Noel had done plenty to damage the Oasis band and brand and that there was a lot of making up to do.

Then, on Thursday this week (May 11), Liam made note of the band's debut album, Definitely Maybe , turning 30 next year and claiming that he would play the album from start to finish at "a few BIBLICAL venues."

That tweet set off a number of interesting follow-up questions that Liam then answered. When one fan noted, "Can’t do this without Noel, so the comeback has got to be on," Liam responded, "Watch me."

Another asked if this would be acoustic or how the material was originally performed, with Liam stating as it was originally performed. The singer also noted B-sides would be included, singling out the song "Cloudburst."

Definitely Maybe put Oasis on the map with its release on Aug. 29, 1994. Led by the singles "Supersonic" and "Live Forever," the band became an instant sensation, garnering widespread critical acclaim and commercial success. Other cuts such as "Rock 'n' Roll Star," "Cigarettes and Alcohol," "Shakermaker" and "Slide Away" became fan favorites as well. The album was certified platinum in the U.S., but really racked up the numbers in their native U.K. where it's gone on to reach 8 times platinum status.

As for Noel Gallagher, the guitarist-songwriter seemingly shut down reunion talks in a late April interview with Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera  about the Definitely Maybe reissue plans. “There won’t be a tour, we won’t come back to play them together," said Noel at the time.

Noel did confirm an expanded reissue of the record in 2024. Teasing what to expect, the guitarist-songwriter commented, “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions. We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.” These supposedly include acoustic versions of "Live Forever," "Slide Away" and "Supersonic."

He also revealed that he knew instantly he had a hit on his hands after writing "Live Forever." "We were nobody," said Gallagher to the Italian paper. "I was in a flat in Manchester on a Tuesday afternoon. I took it to rehearsal and Bonehead said, 'You didn't write that.' I knew it'd be a classic."

‘We live in an age where no band is allowed to leave the stage without an encore’ … (L-R) Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Will an Oasis reunion finally happen – and do we really need it?

Recent proclamations by the Gallagher brothers have convinced some that re-forming is no longer unthinkable. Here we present the case for and against

C rashing into our collective consciousness once again, as inexorable as the tides and almost as frequent, is the suggestion of an Oasis reunion. Liam Gallagher has been unusually generous about his brother’s new single Dead to the World, saying “how can such a mean spirited little man write such a beautiful song” – an improvement on comparing his music to that of arch-nemeses Blur – while Noel has said of a reunion: “He’s got my number. He’s got my manager’s number. Call us … Stop talking on the fucking internet and let’s see what you’ve got to say.”

UN diplomats might have advised more dovish phrasing yet, but by the Gallaghers’ standards they’ve each left a teddy holding some roses on the other’s doorstep. Compare with 2020, when Noel said: “I’ve often thought, ‘Let’s just do a gig.’ But I realised I would only be doing it to shut this fucking idiot up. The only other thing I could come up with was burning his house down or smashing his car in.” Or with 2016, when Liam posted a picture of Noel with the caption “potato”, and then wrote “Fuck Oasis” in block capitals.

By this point, whether Oasis will re-form or not has become as central to the nation’s pop-cultural psyche as who the next Bond will be; were they to reunite, it would not only make both men a staggering amount of money, but potentially make a terrific third act in Britain’s greatest will-they-won’t-they since Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy. As Matty Healy of the 1975 put it last month: “What are Oasis doing? Can you imagine being in potentially – right now, still – the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?”

Like many brothers, they’ve always been at each other’s throats, but in Oasis this was tempered with affection: the most powerful moment of their Knebworth documentary comes during the gig, when they look at each other delightedly, revelling in what they’ve made. Even committed fans of each brother’s solo work since Oasis split in 2009 would admit that their partnership was in cosmic equilibrium: Liam’s attitude is rootless without Noel’s melodies, which in turn need Liam’s catalytic spark.

Not only could it make musical sense, but the bromance would be tied up with a bow. The enmity between Liam and Noel’s then-wife Sara MacDonald seemed to deepen the brothers’ division: “potato” jibes gave way to real nastiness, with Liam saying he didn’t care if Noel and his children were abused online, and Sara responding: “Please god have dropped dead by the time my kids are on social media.” Liam also said Noel was “rite up for [an Oasis reunion] but you know who won’t let him as she doesn’t like Oasis music”. Noel and MacDonald announced they were divorcing earlier this year, and were this a Hollywood movie of brotherly rock stardom, scriptwriters would have him return to Liam to rediscover who he truly is and always had been. Cue another Knebworth gig and run credits. Or would this be too tidy an ending for a band whose fractiousness is part of the appeal? Two of our writers ponder the consequences.

‘It’s not perverse to suggest they’re better apart’

‘Noel and Liam constantly sniping at each other feels more Oasis-ish than patching up their differences’ … Oasis in 2008.

We live in an age when no band is allowed to leave the stage without an encore: after 25 years of re-formations, reunion tours and classic-albums-played-in-full shows, it’s probably quicker to list the legendary bands that haven’t got back together than those that have. Thus the scant handful of holdouts – of bands who could theoretically re-form, but for whatever reason haven’t – have succeeded in bolstering their mystique by the simple expedient of doing nothing: in an age of rock and pop music obsessed with relatability, they seem more distant. Their careers are literally the stuff of legend.

So it is with Oasis. By the time they split up in 2009, they had been subject to diminishing artistic returns for more than 10 years, grimly punting out albums so mediocre it made you wonder if they’d ever been any good in the first place – or if the excitement they had engendered in the mid-90s had been a form of collective hysteria, a dry run for the madness that appeared to grip Britain in the wake of Princess Diana’s death. The intervening decades have burnished their myth, the distance enabling you to see their career more clearly: it’s easier to say that the first two Oasis albums, and the songs they relegated to B-sides in the same era, are largely fantastic, without the shadow of what the band would become – a byword for hoary, unadventurous musical toil – hanging over it. Uniquely among their Britpop peers, Oasis’s best songs seem to have cut through to a generation too young to remember them first-hand: look on TikTok and there’s umpteen videos soundtracked by Wonderwall and Stand By Me.

All of which you might take as reasons to re-form, but it’s more than just wilful perversity to suggest it’s somehow better if they remain unreconciled: Noel and Liam constantly sniping at each other feels more Oasis-ish , or at least more redolent of their golden era, than patching up their differences and acquiescing to public demand. The brothers’ volatility, the thrilling sense that the band could – and indeed frequently did – fall apart in a burst of fraternal violence was intrinsic to their initial appeal. Their inability to smooth over their differences in public marked them out as different, and anyone who had grown up with a sibling could recognise themselves in the interminable, cyclical, needling row that erupted in front of an NME journalist in 1994 – “shurrup, you dick!” – and was later released as the Wibbling Rivalry single. The Oasis who doggedly trudged on, because that’s what their fans wanted, or because they could coin it in on tour, or because they couldn’t think of anything better to do – precisely the reasons bands re-form – were no fun at all. Alexis Petridis

‘Seeing the Knebworth film made me rage with jealousy’

‘There’s something totally pure about hearing 250,000 people joyfully scream along to Cigarettes & Alcohol’ … Liam Gallagher performing at Knebworth, 1996.

There’s little I could say to argue for an Oasis reunion that wasn’t covered last month when Matty Healy, being interviewed by Canadian TV station CBC, went on a minute-long tangent about why the Gallaghers should reconcile, in which he concluded that “there is not one person” who’d rather listen to their solo material than the best of Oasis. Personally, there were parts of Liam’s 2022 album C’mon You Know I didn’t hate – I think it’s charming, at least, that he decided to work with leftfield producers like Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and Caroline Polachek collaborator Danny L Harle – and found it spine-tinglingly great when I saw him perform Oasis hits during a solo set a few years ago. Fundamentally, though, Healy is completely right: any solo effort from either Gallagher is bound to be a pale imitation of their original band. I’ve only gotten into Oasis relatively recently – I was 12 when they broke up in 2009 – so the entirety of my engagement with the band has been listening to their albums, watching old concert videos and keeping track of Liam and Noel’s endless feud.

I thought that hoping for an Oasis reunion was totally futile, so I haven’t held my breath to ever see them in my lifetime. Seeing the 2021 concert documentary Oasis: Knebworth 1996 , though, flicked a switch inside of me: watching the epic, stupidly grand show in a cinema with friends, buzzed after pre-gaming at a nearby Irish pub and sneaking in bags full of beers, I felt a deep, rageful jealousy build inside of me over the fact that I could only ever experience something like Knebworth in a cinema environment.

Part of it was the concert itself, sure, but just as much of it was the infectious vibe of Oasis’s wild, insouciant fanbase – despite all the lewdness and public drunkenness, there’s something totally pure about hearing 250,000 people joyfully scream along to Cigarettes & Alcohol or Some Might Say. I’m clearly not the only one totally won over by the wash of manic, euphoric vibes: Knebworth 1996 was the highest-grossing British documentary of 2021, and a live album of the show peaked at No 4 on the album charts. As a wise man once said: “Do me a favour – get back together, stop messing around.” Shaad D’Souza

Be Here Now: Why this year is the perfect time for an Oasis reunion

Rumours of a liam-noel reunion have dragged on for as long as a soppy soap storyline but with the britpop return of blur and pulp this summer, mark beaumont makes the case for why 2023 is the ideal moment for oasis to reform, article bookmarked.

T he 1975 have some things to say about 1995, as well. “Get back together, stop messing around,” singer Matty Healy advised Oasis in a recent Canadian radio interview. “Can you imagine being in potentially – right now, still – the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?” he argued. “Grow up, headline Glastonbury , have a good time.”

Indeed, at no point since their acrimonious 2009 split has the time been so perfect for an Oasis reunion. You see, Britpop has become a form of generational wonderwarfare. The most highly evolved Gen Zers have developed a reflex howl of “OK Boomer!”, triggered whenever the older generations – misty-eyed behind their Lennon shades, and testing the seams of their vintage Fred Perry shirts – start banging on about the Nineties as a golden age of British pop culture. Force the average 2020s teenager to yet again hear about Sunday’s NME stage line-up at Glastonbury 1994 – Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Radiohead, and Echobelly! – and they might roll their eyes clean out of their heads.

If Britpop gets endlessly lauded as a champagne supernova of good times, it’s only because so many of us can say we were there. The sad truth is, Britain has a long and frustrating history of missing out on its own pop culture revolutions. The stadium excesses of Beatlemania mostly took place in America. For Beatles fans in Britain – where, beyond their theatre tours, the band played only one 15-minute arena gig at Wembley Pool for the 1966 NME Poll Winners’ Party – they were a largely televised phenomenon. The various late-Sixties summers of love were American affairs too, taking over Haight-Ashbury and Woodstock. In the UK, you had to have been a very early Pink Floyd fan, one of the 40 or so groovers in the studio for The Beatles’ “All You Need is Love” satellite broadcast, or a Kensington trust funder letting Jimi Hendrix crash on your sofa to say you’d really “lived” the Age of Aquarius.

Bowie killed Ziggy in front of just 5,000 star-children at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973. Punk played out, all too briefly, in a handful of gob-smattered clubs and King’s Road boutiques. No one who was seriously involved in the rave and acid house explosion of the late-Eighties can remember a second of it, let alone stick a pin in a map to show you where it occurred. The UK’s arena circuit remained so underdeveloped well into the Seventies that even rock giants such as Led Zeppelin were playing regional theatres right up to their legendary Knebworth show in 1979. In fact, before The Stone Roses convened the Madchester faithful at Spike Island in 1990, mass British pop-culture communions were as rare as an honest government appraisal of Brexit.

But during Britpop, they were legion. Blur at Alexandra Palace in 1994, then Mile End Stadium the following year. Oasis at Maine Road and Knebworth. With support slots crammed with like-minded breakthrough indie acts – Supergrass, The Boo Radleys, The Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers, Cast – these shows weren’t just one-band gigs. They were snapshots of an era. Major UK festivals like Glastonbury and Reading dedicated entire days to Britpop bands. Pulp virtually stole the decade when they replaced The Stone Roses as Glastonbury 1995 headliners at the last minute. And all of it was splashed across a plethora of Nineties youth culture TV shows, newspapers, and a growing festival scene. Britpop was arguably the first UK-bred music movement that millions of UK-bred music lovers truly felt a part of.

And can again. This year offers a unique chance for a generation of pop fans to experience 1995 for themselves, pretty much as-was. In a rare break from Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz activity and bassist Alex James’s cheese business, Blur return to Wembley in July. That same month, Pulp will play Finsbury Park as part of a major UK tour. Hit both gigs and you can claim to be a reborn child of Britpop, even if you’re young enough to think Lush is a cosmetics shop, and the words “Chris Evans” bring to mind Captain America, as opposed to Shaun Ryder delivering some Olympic-level swearing on teatime TV. For one glorious summer we can pretend rent is affordable again, there’s only been a mere 30 years of (male team) World Cup hurt, and there’s no such thing as James Corden.

Except, of course, one key piece of the 1995 puzzle is missing. The 14-year-long, will-they-won’t-they saga of the Oasis reunion has, like so many equally dramatic soap storylines that dragged on too long , become tedious in the extreme. Throughout his wilderness years, Liam Gallagher regularly took to Twitter to beg, badger and bravado his brother Noel into reforming their Britpop behemoth. His pleas fell on deaf ears, however, as the elder Gallagher’s solo career took wing with his High Flying Birds band. Once Liam’s solo career also gained traction, he no longer needed Oasis; the odds of a reunion plummeted further. But he still claims to be “Oasis ’til I die” on Twitter, and amid a recent divorce – so often the catalyst for high-profile band reunions by artists who previously said they’d rather gnaw their own foot off than play together again – Noel has opened the door a crack. “You should never say never,” he told BBC Radio Manchester last month. Although, he said, “it would have to take an extraordinary set of circumstances”.

Would a once-in-a-lifetime alignment of the Nineties indie rock planets suffice, Noel? The fact is, there has never been, and never again will be, a better time for Oasis to reform. Not for the music as such. Any given year, the dedicated fan can see Liam and Noel perform Oasis’s greatest hits separately, with occasional added Bonehead. Nor does anyone feel their life remains incomplete until they’ve witnessed the triumphant return of bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan to a major international stage.

It’s time for Noel and Liam Gallagher to bring Oasis back

But this year and this year only, an Oasis reunion wouldn’t smack of nostalgia cash-in but represent a coming together for the ages. As part of an impromptu national celebration of Britpop, a 2023 Oasis reunion would be a monumental moment; an erasure of long-engrained generational divides and a modern cultural closure. While we can’t expect Blur, Oasis and Pulp to agree on a running order to recreate Glastonbury 1994, a Liam-Noel reunion would at least give Gen Z their own Blur vs Oasis moment. Today’s teenagers could finally experience the thrill of the hallowed Nineties for themselves – with its old-school tribal rivalries, its factional uniforms and its ubiquitous Phil Daniels – before coming to the conclusion, as most of us did, that Pulp’s Different Class was the best Britpop record, anyway. This year is going supersonic with or without Oasis. Maybe, helped by Healy, Liam and Noel will wake up and smell the cocaine cornflakes.

Oasis are set to reunite in June 2025, according to reports. After fresh reports surfaced touring companies and management had earmarked Knebworth for a massive reunion in two summers' time, the exact dates have now emerged.

A source said to the Sun newspaper: “Agents are provisionally looking at dates in June, which would see fans enjoying Oasis again with the chance of the sun shining. Of course, even if it did pour down with rain, fans would still show up for the historic reunion.”

“For Liam and Noel, this public slanging match is all part of the show – they know it gets everyone’s attention and keeps people guessing," the source continued. “Both are set to release solo albums soon and are each due to tour next year, so it helps to keep people riveted.”

Last week, Noel admitted he was open to a conversation about any comeback. "He is forever going on about it, you would have thought by now he would have some kind of plan. If he has got a plan, he doesn't have to speak to me, I know he won't speak to me he is a coward," Noel said.

"He should get some of his people to call my people and say 'look this is what we're thinking' and then we will have a conversation about it. Until then he is being a little bit disingenuous." Speaking on TalkSport, Noel added: "The thing with Liam is you read these things every day and he is saying 'it's happening', so he gets peoples hopes up all over the world.

"Then I get asked about it and I have to look like I am dropping a big foot on it." Noel also hit out at Matty Healy for discussing Oasis' future. “Oh, that f–king slack-jawed f–kwit. What did he say?” Noel asked. “He would never be able to imagine it. He needs to go over how s–t his band is and split up,” he added.

Oasis reunions have been in the air for quite some time but have never pushed through. But every time the rumor mill starts running, avid fans of the band are always in a frenzy, hoping that the band would push through with the comeback.

Last weekend, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher sparked up speculations again of a possible comeback after he expressed interest in reconciling with his brother Noel Gallagher.

The comeback?

In a recent exclusive interview with The Times , Gallagher mentioned something fans have been dying to hear from the frontman.

"I'd love Oasis to get back together. If it happens, it happens. But I'm quite happy doing [my solo career]," Gallagher admits.

After Oasis, both Gallagher brothers have found success, with Liam's third solo album, "C'mon You Know," released in May.

In June 2022, he will perform two sold-out shows in Knebworth Park  in Hertfordshire. A hall where Oasis memorably performed two career-defining, record-breaking performances in 1996.

The frontman also revealed that the band "should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we're at."

But ironically, with her vocal expression of reuniting the band, Liam still took a swipe on his brother at the same interview, mentioning that his upcoming shows at Knebworth must have "bothered" his brother.

Shots are fired

Despite being hopeful for a reunion project, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher still managed to take a quick shot with his beef with his brother, Noel Gallagher.

"Look, it's got to, hasn't it? I'm sure deep down he's happy, he's not all bad. But there's going to be a bit of 'the f*cker's out and about again,'" Liam quips.

The frontman continued saying that if the roles were reversed and Noel would be playing at Knebworth, he would definitely be "livid."

"I don't care how much money you've got, how many houses you've got, how many celebrity mates, when you get home you'd be sitting there thinking, 'f*cker," he continued.

Liam, still distraught, says that since the "geezer's got many faces," he can hide behind one of them."

Hopes of reunion

Last year, Noel stated that he would be willing to do an Oasis reunion for £100 millio n. Not backing down, Liam immediately replied that he would reassemble the band for free.

Wahey we’re getting back together Noel Gallagher being minted and rich as fuck he’s doing it for nothing me being a desperate cunt and have fuck all else going for himself I’m doing it for the cash c’mon you know LG x — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) February 3, 2020

Oasis disbanded in 2009  when one of the Gallagher brothers, Noel, walked out after a big argument with his brother Liam.

Delving into the breakup, Liam recalls that he thought they would be doing it like The Rolling Stones, "doing it until the day we died."

"We might have had a break, gone off and done our own thing, and then got back on it. For it to implode like that was disastrous," Liam ended.

Would there be a reunion anytime soon? Only the band could tell as this may be one of the same false hopes fans received before.

Oasis 'set to reunite with string of gigs at iconic music venue'

It would be the first time brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher will have performed together since playing V Festival in August 2009 - and almost 30 years since they last played at the iconic estate

  • Updated 04:22, 21 May 2023

Oasis fans will soon have a lot to celebrate as reports suggest brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are putting their differences aside, getting the band back together, and hitting the road.

The iconic Britpop band existed from 1991 until 2009 - breaking up when 55-year-old Noel and 50-year-old Liam dramatically fell out and decided to walk away from each other.

But now, after 14 years, the lads are said to be preparing to get back together for a string of headline dates at the iconic Knebworth House estate.

The band last performed there back in 1996 when they broke records at the time by performing to 250,000 fans over two nights.

And while Robbie Williams smashed that record in 2003 by playing to 375,000 over three nights, it is hinted Liam, Noel and their session players play a massive four-night concert in 2025. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s very early days for the plan, and the proposed dates are a long way off. But if all members agree to do it, history will be made.

"Tickets would sell like hot cakes and fans would rejoice in seeing the band together again.

“It would be the perfect way for Oasis to come back together again and wouldn’t involve a tiresome touring schedule.”

The proposed dates are said to be in 2025 - which may seem far off, but will accommodate the fact both Liam and Noel are releasing solo material.

Earlier this year, Liam discussed his plans to record his fourth solo album, telling a fan on Twitter : “We’ll start sewing (sic) the seeds this year but it’ll be nxt year im taking most of the year of to find myself I’ve been bought a pair of sandals.”

While Noel is due to release a new album with his band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, titled Council Skies in June.

Back in April, Noel told reporters that he did not expect Oasis to reunite any time soon - dismissing suggestions the team would reform to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Definitely Maybe, which was released in 1994.

He said: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions. We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.”

And while he said these ‘lost’ tapes would be released, he added: “There won’t be a tour, we won’t come back to play them together.”

However, last week chart rivals Blur announced they are reforming and frontman Damon Albarn says it’s only a matter of time before Oasis follow their lead.

He said: "They're brothers and it would be wonderful to see them reconcile."

While it was also reported that the star - who also fronts the alt-rock band Gorrilaz - had placed a bet that Oasis would reform, saying: "I can guarantee they're going to reform. In fact, I've put money on it."

Liam Gallagher ‘ready’ for Oasis reunion if Manchester City win the Champions League

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Liam Gallagher has revealed he’s up for an Oasis reunion if his beloved football team, Manchester City , win the Champions League .

The 50-year-old made the admission after a fan asked whether the rockers would play together if Man City won the tournament, to which he replied: “I’m ready to go”.

And it seems the frontman isn’t the only member of the group ready for a reunion with Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs revealing he too is ready for a comeback.

The 57-year-old told Toby Tarrant on Radio X: “See that bag under there? Plectrums in there. I’m ready.”

Over the bank holiday weekend, the guitarist discussed his thoughts about a potential reunion during his Radio X special, Bonehead’s Bank Holiday, and said it would be worth it for their younger fans.

He said: “Some days you wake up and think ‘Nah, there’s no need for it. It’s been done.’ But when I’m on stage with Liam Gallagher as a solo artist, and I come out and we play Rock ‘n’ Roll Star and the place erupts.

“People are bouncing higher and harder than they did at some of the gigs back in the day.

Adding: “I look at that first ten rows when I’m playing an arena with Liam, and they’re like 16 or 17 years of age. These people weren’t even born until well into Oasis’s career.

“So, if there was a reunion, wouldn’t it be worth it for them? To come and witness that band? In that sense it would be worth just one gig next year for those kids at the front, who are jumping and bouncing at Liam’s gigs.”

Despite Bonehead’s hope for reunion, Noel recently poured water on a potential Oasis comeback ahead of the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Definitely Maybe, in 2024.

While he has promised something special for fans, he insisted it won’t be a tour.

He told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera last month: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions. We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.

“There won’t be a tour – we won’t come back to play them together.”

Liam and brother Noel, 55, have have barely spoken since a huge backstage bust-up ended their band Oasis, in August 2009.

Since the super-group disbanded, Liam started band Beady Eye before launching his solo career in 2017 with album As You Were, while Noel has enjoyed much success with his band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, since 2010.

Oasis Fans Think Noel And Liam Reunion Is On The Cards After Change To Official Page

Oasis Fans Think Noel And Liam Reunion Is On The Cards After Change To Official Page

Liam and noel gallagher reuniting oasis is a constant subject of debate amongst fans.

Tom Wood

Oasis fans have been put on red alert for a potential reunion after the band’s official page changed profile picture.

Of course, fans have been barking up that tree for a long time, and the two Gallagher brothers have long said that it’s not going to happen, as well as publicly slagging one another off.

That doesn’t mean that it will never happen though.

After all, the Mancunians are one of the biggest bands of recent decades, and they could presumably sell out as many shows as they liked at whatever venues they liked, provided they could hold off from thumping each other.

Anyway, when the official Oasis Facebook page changed picture to a shot of both Liam and Noel together back in their heyday, fan speculation shifted into overdrive.

The Oasis Facebook's picture change set tongues wagging.

One person commented: “Is this the Oasis comeback? US ready for Oasis tour!”

Another said: “I need to know what is the meaning behind this?! Like is it just a change of profile pic or is there meaning behind it?!

“One last Oasis gig would make my life complete.”

A third simply said: “Love to see this happen again.”

However, for every hopeful fan wondering whether the two brothers will come around the table and take to the stage once more, there is another person who is more pessimistic about the potential for a reunion.

One glass-half-full fan said: “Not happening, had my hopes up with similar posts on Twitter, they are too stubborn to kiss and make up.”

Another commented: “Yeah right, Noel and Liam Gallagher coexisting.”

An Oasis reunion would be huge.

As well as this, others have pointed out that the picture seems to be from around the time that Oasis’ third album Be Here Now was released, which was 25 years ago.

Could the anniversary really be what this is all about?

Well, we know that Liam and Noel spend their time reading through these articles – or at least we like to think that – so maybe they can let us know.

Seriously lads, it would be great for us if you’d let us know first.

In truth, the reunion doesn’t seem that close, given that both brothers have new bands, tour dates, and successful solo careers of their own.

Last we heard, Liam left the door open slightly on the subject of a reunion, telling us: "See, I don't mind getting asked that, 'cause it's natural.

"You know what I mean? I like talking about Oasis 'cause it's the best band in the world."

Pressed on the matter, he said: "What, getting back together? Not this week, but I mean, I'm ready to go.

"My bags are packed, maybe the week after."

You'd imagine Oasis could sell out every venue on the planet.

Whether Noel would be so keen remains to be seen, but it would likely be the biggest tour in recent memory, so there’s a significant incentive there.

Or, perhaps things are better left remembered and left in the past.

After all, the two might just end up scrapping on stage in front of 90,000 people at Wembley.

To be fair, they could probably sell 50,000,000 pay-per-views for that too.

Weiter verstritten: Liam Gallagher gibt Oasis-Comeback keine Chance

Moscow Metro

Introduction of moscow subway system (metro).

Richly Decorated Central Hall of Novokuznetskaya Station

Nowadays the Moscow Metro has 12 lines, light subway and monorail. All stations are unique and beautiful in their own way. Unfortunately, in order to visit them all, you need to spend many days. I invite guests to visit the ones that have the greatest cultural and historical interest from my point of view. Among them are the Revolution Square, Arbatskaya, Kievskaya (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line № 3); Kievskaya, Belarusskaya, Novoslobodskaya, Komsomolskaya (the Ring line number 5). Let us dwell a bit on each.

Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line

Subway station "revolution square".

Sign “Ploshchad Revolyutsii” in Archway with Bronze Figures

Most recently - in the year 2008-2010 – the Eastern lobby was renovated. Because of the terrorist attacks in the Moscow subway that took place several hours before the planned opening of the East lobby after renovation, the solemn part of the event was canceled.

Subway station Arbatskaya

Subway Arbatskaya is located on the same subway line as the station "Revolution Square." It was founded in 1953. It received the name in honor of the Arbat Street. It has one ground lobby (Western). Initially, the lobby was in a separate building, but the new building of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense started, the lobby appeared to be in its atrium. The old exits were bricked up; a new entrance was built into the building of General Staff of the street Vozdvizhenka. There is a huge frame with a missing portrait in the ground lobby - until mid-1950 there was a portrait of Stalin. According to some reports, it survived, but closed with plaster.

The lobby was restored and partially reconstructed in 2007-2008.

The depth of the station is 41 meters.

Pylons are finished with red marble at the bottom, decorated with bouquets of flowers made from ceramics. The floor is laid out with gray granite. The walls lined with glazed ceramic tiles, white top and black bottom. The station hall is illuminated by massive bronze chandeliers in the form of rings.

Subway station Kievskaya

There are several subway stations "Kievskaya" in Moscow, located on different branches. This name is quite popular. It comes from the capital of Ukraine - one of Russia's nearest neighbors - the city of Kiev. The name is fully consistent with the idea of the subway station. The interior the station devoted to Soviet Ukraine and the reunification of Ukraine and Russia. The station is decorated with a large number of paintings .Twenty four murals depicting workers of Soviet Ukraine are placed on the arch above the pylons. The wall from the side of platform also contains frescos, mainly with images of fantastic plants. Pylons are decorated with light marble and additionally decorated with colorful ceramic cornice. The butt of the station has a large mosaic, depicting festivities to celebrate the 300 anniversary of the reunification of Ukraine and Russia.

Opened in 1953, this subway station for a long time was the final (1953-2003).

The station has one lobby, combined with the station ring line and located in the building of the Kievskaya railway station. The diameter of the central hall station is 9.5 m, the diameter of side one is 8.5 m. The depth of the station is 38 meters.

= Ring Line Subway =

It opened in 1954. The station received its name after the Kiev station, and locked the Ring line. During the construction of the station many projects were proposed, but the victory in the competition won the Kiev architects who made the construction of the station. It is the only station of the Ring Line which is not located in the Central Administrative District of Moscow.

The station has a pylon structure. Eighteen pylons are decorated with mosaic panels of glazes, decorated on the theme of Ukrainian history and friendship between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples, which started in the mid-17 century.

On the front wall of the central hall of the station a large panel with molding in the form of flags and a mosaic portrait of Lenin in the center are located. There are lines of the Soviet national anthem around the portrait, and under the portrait - the words of Lenin. One of the ways out of the station was designed by French architects modeled on the Paris Subway in 2006.

At one of the mosaics – “The Struggle for Soviet power in Ukraine "- modern passengers observe a mobile phone and PDA in the hand of one of the guerrillas, and on his knees - a laptop. In fact, he uses a field telephone, which was really a heavy thing (guerrillas holds it in two hands), and thing that people see a laptop is the lid of a box with a telephone. However, these phones have begun to produce only in the second half of the 20-ies of XX century. We must assume that the mosaic depicts a foreign field telephone transmitter.

Subway station Belorusskaya

The founded of the station was in 1952. It received the name after the Belarusian railway station nearby. The station has two ground-based lobbies. The Western one goes to Tverskaya  Zastava. It is decorated with beautiful carvings. The Eastern one leads to Butyrskiy shaft and Forest Street. The Eastern lobby is known for its majolica panels.

The station Belorusskaya is located at a depth of 42.5 m below ground. The diameter of the central hall is 9.5 meters.

Pylons are faced with light marble. The walls lined with white ceramic tiles, the floor is covered with ceramic tiles, gray, white and red colors. Lamps placed on pylons, in the form of vases made of glass and marble. The theme of decoration is economy and culture of Belarus. Decorative pattern on the floor repeats the theme of traditional Belarusian embroidery. Decorations of the ceiling consist of stucco decorations and 12 mosaic panels depicting the life of the Belarusian people.

Subway station Novoslobodskaya

Built in 1952, Subway station Novoslobodskaya got its name from the eponymous street:  the station is located at the very beginning of it.

Novoslobodskaya is pylon station of deep foundation (its depth is 40 m) with three arches.

Exit to the street is through the ground lobby with column portico, located on Novoslobodskaya Street lined with gray marble. Pylons of the underground station are faced with marble from the Urals. Thirty two spectacularly illuminated stained-glasses, placed inside the pylon and bordered by steel and gilt brass are splendid decoration of the station. A remarkable mosaic "World Peace" is located at the end of the central hall. The picture depicts a happy mother with a baby in her arms; it was the face of Stalin at the picture: the child gave a hand to him. But in times of Khrushchev the face of the former leader of USSR was removed from the panel. The walls are lined with bright marble; floor is covered with white and black granite slabs, placed in a checkerboard pattern.

Subway station Komsomolskaya

The station was built in 1952 and named in honor of the Komsomolskaya Square, which is situated nearby.

This subway station is the station of the deep bedding. Its depth is 37 meters. The station has column and three- arched design. Cast iron decoration is used in the construction, monolithic slab used as a tray for a collapsible finishing. The length of the boarding hall is 190 meters; width of it is 10 meters. There are 68 octagonal columns at station.

The main theme of the interior of the station is the fighting of the Russian people for their independence. The ceiling is decorated with eight station mosaic mural made from glazes and precious stones. Six of them represent the Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoy, Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, Alexander Suvorov and Mikhail Kutuzov, the Soviet soldiers and officers at the walls of the Reichstag.

Two other panels, depicting Stalin ("Victory Parade" and "Presentation of the Guards Banner"), were replaced after the dethronement of Stalin's personality cult in 1963. New panels depict Lenin's speech in front of the Red Guards and the Motherland on the background of the Kremlin's Spasskaya Tower.

The yellow ceiling is decorated with mosaic and moldings. The hall is illuminated by massive chandeliers hanging between the panels; platforms are illuminated with smaller chandeliers. The columns are decorated with marble capitals and trimmed with light marble, as well as the wall station. The floor is laid with pink granite. There is a bust of Lenin at the end of the hall. At the opposite end of the escalator is a large Florentine mosaic of the Order of Victory with red banners on the background. The ground lobby of the station is decorated with bas-reliefs.

In conclusion...

Each of the stations of the Moscow subway is attractive and interesting in its own way. Each has its own long and fascinating history and is beautifully decorated. The Moscow subway is a whole world, which can be talking about for hours. I suggest you short - no more than one hour and a half - and a fascinating journey through the world of the Moscow subway. The pleasure is guaranteed!

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
