Bad Omens Book Fall 2023 North American Tour With ERRA + I See Stars

Bad Omens continue to build their reputation as one of heavy music's most exciting new live bands, and you'll get another chance to see them this fall. The group has announced the "Concrete Forever" headline tour that will feature support from ERRA and I See Stars .

The tour gets underway Sept. 1 in Houston, Texas, heading east before wrapping back around the U.S. and dipping into Canada before reaching the West Coast and circling back around to finish up in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 13. The band also has three festivals appearances falling in the midst of the run, as they'll play the Blue Ridge Rock Festival, the Louder Than Life Festival and Aftershock. See all the scheduled dates, cities and venues listed below.

The tour comes as the band continues support of their 2022 album, The Death of Peace of Mind . “Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians. In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label,” said Bad Omens' Noah Sebastian.

The artist pre-sale for the tour starts tomorrow (April 4) at 10AM local time through this Thursday (April 6) at 10PM local. The general public on-sale will follow this Friday (April 7) at 10AM local time. There will also be limited VIP upgrades that go on sale this Friday (April 7) as well. Head here for ticketing info.

ERRA and I See Stars will support the run

Bad Omens have announced the “CONCRETE FOREVER” North American tour with support from ERRA and I See Stars .

The trek kicks off September 1st in Houston and runs through October 13th in Dallas, hitting major markets around the continent along the way. Bad Omens will also make notable festival stops at Louder Than Life (September 22nd) in Louisville, Kentucky, and Aftershock (October 6th) in Sacramento, California.

An artist ticket pre-sale begins tomorrow (April 4th) at 10 a.m. local time, followed by a Live Nation pre-sale on Wednesday (April 5th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code VINYL . General ticket sales begin Friday (April 7th) at 10 a.m. local time. Alternatively, you can look for deals or get tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

Bad Omens have a busy year ahead as they tour in support of 2022’s The Death of Peace of Mind . Next month, the alt-metal band is set to embark on a shorter May/June US leg with ERRA and Invent Animate surrounding a May 25th appearance at the Sonic Temple festival on May 25th in Columbus, Ohio.

Along the way, they toured with numerous marquee acts and received tastemaker praise.

After their first headline tour was canceled mid-way at the top of the global pandemic, the band found themselves at home in Los Angeles with plenty of time. Where they absorbed and imparted a different palette of unexpected inspirations. Channeling what the frontman describes at times as a “cursive sound” they embraced newfound confidence and boundlessly loose creativity. Anything went in the studio, and all “rules” were broken. Noah and Jolly wrote, produced, and engineered the music themselves while GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer and songwriter Zakk Cervini (Halsey, Grimes, Poppy, blink-182) lent his talents with the mix and master. Challenging himself, Noah decided to “make a track sampling items around the house, none of which were musical instruments”.

This ultimately became the framework for the first single “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND”. Claps puncture the icy soundscape as his voice stretches from a breathy moan into an evocative and entrancing hook, breaking from a whisper into the seductive chant, “It wasn’t hard to realize. Love’s the death of peace of mind.” It culminates on a climactic scream uplifted by a distorted crunch.

“The whole record really details the loss of peace of mind,” he explains. “The lyrics in the title track are a little more specific in terms of the conflict at the heart of something more intimate and personal.”

By speaking it aloud, Bad Omens offer a level of comfort and empathy, with a sinister shroud. At the same time, they also give rock music a sexy new shape on ' THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' .

“Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early too,” he leaves off. “You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.”

Bad Omens: Tour of the Concrete Jungle

The Tour of the Concrete Jungle is Bad Omen's first full headlining tour — aside from their 2020 headlining tour Dethrone: The Killed and Born Again Tour that was shortly lived once COVID hit and their

short self-titled tour to promote Tour of the Concrete Jungle .

Starting out with 27 US shows — adding more and more as tickets began to sell. Completely selling out their US tour with 31 shows (not including their UK/EU tour) .

The US tour included Dayseeker, Make Them Suffer , and Thousand Below — While the UK/EU tour includes Ghøstkid and Oxymorons .

Death of Peace of Mind

After releasing their newest album Death of Peace of Mind in February 2022 under Sumerian Records , Bad Omens began to gain more popularity. Producing the album themselves (along with Erik Ron , Michael Taylor , Jesse Cash , and mixing and mastering by Zakk Cervini ) , the band was able to get creative with how they wanted the album to sound.

Hitting number 1 on Billboards Hard Rock Digital Song Sale for their song “Just Pretend” , reaching 20 million streams on Spotify , gaining traction and going viral on TikTok — Bad Omens has been spread along every social media platform.

Concrete Jungle

Kicking off their US tour on November 2nd, fans had no idea what to expect. Bad Omens brought this tour to a whole new level. Giving a theatrical performance with the outfit changes, the on screen visuals that were onstage, and the props added gave fans an experience that transcends.

Before every show, Bad Omens wanted to give fans the option to purchase VIP and receive a private Bad Omens experience. No phones allowed. Just you, your fellow cult members, and the band. During this experience, you got to see an exclusive video, talk with the band, and got a group photo taken by their photographer Bryan Kirks . You also receive a signed Bad Omens tour poster and first picks for the merch booth before the show began.

Outside the Concord Music Hall in Chicago Illinois , fans began to fill the sidewalk down to the next block. Those who had VIP got to be let in first and find a spot in the venue before the rest of the crowd. Once everyone was finally inside, the venue was packed from top to bottom.

Before Bad Omens were set to take the stage, Thousand Below started off the night followed by Make Them Suffer and Dayseeker . Getting fans excited for what was about to come.

The familiar sounds of a piano played on the speakers. Those who had VIP would recognize the melody as they had just heard it during the private video they got to watch. The tune was “Truman’s Sleep” by Philip Glass from The Truman Show . As the song came to an end the venue went dark and fans began to cheer, knowing Bad Omens was next.

The venue lit up red as the screens on the stage flashed on. Appearing similar to the hacker “Anonymous” , Noah flashed on the screen in a Bad Omens ski mask.

“HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS IS A TRAGIC MISSTEP IN EVOLUTION. WE BECAME TOO SELF-AWARE HERE. NATURE CREATED AN ASPECT OF NATURE SEPARATE FROM ITSELF. WE ARE CREATURES THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST BY NATURAL LAW. WE ARE THINGS THAT LABOR UNDER THE ILLUSION OF HAVING A SELF. THIS SECRETION OF SENSORY EXPERIENCE AND FEELING. PROGRAMMED WITH TOTAL ASSURANCE THAT WE ARE EACH SOMEBODY.

Noah walked out on stage alone, wearing his black trench coat and single black glove. Starting off the show with their song “Concrete Jungle” . Slowly the rest of the band joined Noah on stage as the tempo began to speed up.

“I said it's enough. I begged and I ran in circles. I climbed to the sun, and fell in a concrete jungle. I said it's done. You never know if you'll get what you wish for. I climbed to the sun and I fell, I fell, in a concrete jungle” - Concrete Jungle

The crowd screams along with Noah as he says, “And I’m the fucking king” , with smoke shooting out of the smoke guns that aligned the stage.

“WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT THESE PEOPLE? THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU. NONE OF THEM. THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW YOU. BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T SHOWN THEM. EVERYDAY YOU WILL WAKE UP AND THERE WILL BE LESS OF YOU. YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR THEM AND THEY DON’T EVEN SEE YOU. YOU DON’T EVEN SEE YOURSELF.”

The screen flashed back off as the band began playing their next song “Artificial Suicide” . This time Noah came back on stage wearing a Bad Omens ski mask.

“Ready Chicago ” , Noah growled. “One, two, three, jump” . The crowd started jumping and head-banging along to the beat of the song. People began crowd-surfing all over the venue.

Noah grabbed the top of his mask and pulled it off his head and the crowd screamed “Can you hear me through the white noise” . Ending the song and heading backstage, Noah quickly changed out of the trench coat. He came back out this time wearing a long-sleeved turtle neck.

As their song “Nowhere to Go” began playing, he threw his fist in the air and began chanting “hey” and the crowd followed along. “I can’t hear you ”, he said. “We are Bad Omens , sit tight you got nowhere to go.”

They began performing their song, with the crowd singing loudly along with. During the bridge, Noah stopped and said, “My friends, have you ever heard of a wall of death before?” The crowd yelled and he continued, “I said, have you ever heard of fucking a wall of death before?” The crowd cheered louder. “Cause I see some space to be made right here in the center. I’m gonna show you where the center is.” Noah said pointing out where the center of the crowd was. “Right where I’m fucking standing. Right here” , he said pointing down a path. “Make fucking space.”

The crowd began to separate, moving to one side or the other. Dividing the crowd in half. “Tell me what's mine and tell me what's yours, Why I never got a say, never got a choice?” Noah began to sing, repeating the lines. The crowd joined together to scream, “Tell me what's mine and tell me what's yours, and why I never ever got a fucking say?”, as the beat dropped the crowd ran together, filling the empty space.

“Would you like to hear an old song?” Noah asked, “How about so old, it’s the first song we ever fucking released. It’s called ‘Glass Houses’ .” After their performance for “Glass Houses,” they went into performing “The Grey” . Showing off Noah’s melodic voices. Leading into their song “Never Know” from their 2019 Album Finding God Before God Finds Me . Fans sang along with each song.

They started their song “Mercy” with a monologue from the 2009 film “The Road” playing on the speakers. Ending as Noah began singing the first verse.

“Chicago, are we alive?” Noah yelled and the crowd cheered. “Then open up that fucking pit.” The crowd began to jump as the tempo picked up and the smoke guns sprayed over the crowd.

“If God came down from His kingdom, He came down from His home, and we asked Him if He'd take us back He would surely tell us no. If God came down from His kingdom, He came down from his throne, and we asked Him if He'd take us back, He would tell us we can't go.” - Mercy

“ Chicago , are you fucking angry?” Noah yelled. “Are you fucking sick of it all?” He continued on with the lyrics, “We’re dying every day. Tell me is it all in vain. Is it worth the suffering? Is it worth the price we paid? Tell me, is it worth it”.

Once the song was finished, Noah, Nicholas, and Jolly walked off to the side of the stage. Filling the venue with darkness. The screens on the stage flashed on with videos of Keaton Pierce , the late singer of Too Close to Touch who had recently just passed in March.

Noah has expressed in many interviews how close Keaton and himself were. Someone who Noah looked up to and called a best friend. During this tour, Bad Omens has paid tribute to Keaton at every show by performing their song “Sympathy” . As well as paying tribute with their song, you can also see on the sides of Noah’s hands is Keaton Pierce’s name tattooed.

As “Sympathy” began playing Noah walked back on stage setting down a second microphone stand next to his own, as he has done for every show this tour. During the whole performance fans just stared in awe. Some fans singing along, some just listening quietly, others tearing up in remembrance of Keaton . Feeling the love and pain in the song and in Noah’s performance.

In the post along with the video performance of “Sympathy” , Noah said,

“Earlier this year on March 26th, 2022 - my friend Keaton Pierce passed away suddenly and unexpectedly due to a medical condition he had been dealing with privately.

Keaton sang in a band called Too Close To Touch , and was a close friend of ours ever since the summer of 2017 on Vans Warped Tour where we first met and spent so many nights together.

In addition to being my friend, he was someone I greatly admired as an artist, and he inspired me and the way I sing, and the way I make music to this day.

To keep his memory and the impact his art had on our band alive we’ve been playing their song "Sympathy" every night of this tour. While every night this is a very special part of the set - this night in particular was even more special because we were able to get all of the other members of TCTT , past and present, together again in Nashville, TN to perform “Sympathy” one more time.

I’d like to thank Kenny , Mason , Travis , and Thomas for coming and playing with us, and for allowing us to honor Keaton in this way on this tour.” - Noah Sebastian / Bad Omens

The venue was dark and moody, with only the screen on the stage illuminating light. The soothing sound of the beats of “Who Are You?” playing alongside the dialogue from the movie “Her” kept the room quiet and in a trance, waiting for Noah to come back onstage. While preforming their song Noah sat down at the edge of the stage, making the performance feel more intimate.

“Alright Chicago, y’all wanna pick this shit back up?” Noah said as they got ready to preform their next song. “This song is called 'Limits' , and you need to jump and you need to sing.” The crowd cheered, ready to bring back the high energy.

“Everybody jump” . Noah shouted, jumping along with the crowd.

“Alright Chicago , y’all know the words by now. Sing this last chorus for us as loud as you can” , Noah said and fans sang along.

“If you're throwing me to the lions, you should know I'm not scared of dying. I wouldn't take back one thing I did, one word I said, but I'm gonna make you wish you did” - Limits

“What do you say you have a little party with us? How’s that sound?” Fans began to cheer, getting excited for what was coming next. “This song is called ' I Don’t Want The Money' (“IDWT$”) and it’s about working your fucking ass off for years with nothing in return” .

Towards the end of the song two men came out from each side of the stage, wearing the Bad Omens ski mask and carrying out a confetti gun. Once the tempo of the song changed they shot out the confetti into the crowd. Each night throwing out a handful of dollar bills into the crowd.

Next they preformed their song “What It Cost” which led into “Like A Villain” .

“Hello. You ready to play some songs now?” , Noah said and the crowd cheered. “We are Bad Omens , thank you so much for coming out to this Tour of the Concrete Jungle . We could not possibly move forward without bringing up the fact that you crazy motherfuckers sold this whole tour out in advance before it started” . The crowd cheered for the band. “That is fucking incredible, that is something else. Thank you all so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” He repeated. Noah then shouted out the bands that played before, Thousand Below , Make Them Suffer , and Dayseeker .

“Right now we have a song blowing up on something they call the internet. On a platform particularly called TikTok they say. I know there’s a lot of metal heads in the room traditionally coming from the background this band originated. You probably hear me say TikTok and you maybe wince a little bit and I have a counter argument for that, I have a counter point. I want you to hear me out. Don’t you think it’s about fucking time that there’s some good music blowing up on TikTok ?” The crowd cheered. “Let’s show them what the fuck is up, huh? This last song I’m gonna need your help, I know you know it. You know the words, you know the melody, you’re gonna sing it with me right now. We’re gonna see, we’re gonna find out. It’s called ‘ Just Pretend’. ”

Noah began singing the chorus and pointing the microphone towards the crowd as they chimed in. “You got it” , Noah said and began signing the first verse of the song.

“I can wait for you at the bottom, I can stay away if you want me to. I can wait for years if I gotta, Heaven knows I ain't getting over you” - Just Pretend

“If you got a lighter or a flashlight on your phone. Anything that makes a light, hold it up right now for us.” Noah said as they began singing the bridge of the song. The crowd lit up the venue with the lights on their phones.

Hitting the final verse Noah says, “Your turn. Sing it with us. One more time. Just you and me, let’s go.” Ending the song with the crowd singing along to the soft melody. “It’s beautiful isn’t it? Thank you all so much. We are Bad Omens , we’ll see you next time.”

The band exited the stage, leaving the crowd cheering and wanting more. They began to chant for “one more song” . The intro melody to “The Death Of Peace Of Mind” began playing. “ How about three” , Noah said making his way back on stage. “Y’all know this one?” He asked and the crowd cheered.

Once the song ended the venue went dark. Red lights flashed as the beat of the drums hit. “Concrete” , Noah growled. The crowd cheered in excitement. “Concrete” , Noah growled again stomping his foot on the stage along with the beat of the drum.

“Concrete” Noah growled once again. “Where the fuck you at Chicago ?” , he said before growling “Concrete” again. This time the crowd chanted back “Jungle” .

“Concrete", Noah would say and the crowd would chant back “Jungle” , getting louder and faster each time. “This is 'Dethrone' you fucks.” He said as they began playing their next song.

The crowd screamed along to the lyrics. People began jumping around and crowd surfing.

“Here am I, take me to the pearly gates, so I can look you in the eye when I spit in your face. Here am I, take me to the pearly gates. Don't let 'em hit you on the way out when I take your place” - Dethrone

Noah growled into the microphone as the beat dropped. “If there’s a God, it’s fucking me.” He yelled and smoke sprayed over the crowd. “ Chicago make some fucking noise.” He growled. Fans sang along as they finished up the song.

“For the next three and a half minutes you are all apart of the official Concrete Jungle Tour Afterparty . This is an experience that transcends genre or label or any of that bullshit. This is nothing more than you and your most primal state. So dance, stomp, and sing, do what the fuck you want.” He said and began preforming their song “What Do You Want From Me?”

Fans jumped and danced along with Noah . Some crowd surfing to the front. The two men with the Bad Omens ski mask came back out with the smoke guns and sprayed smoke above the crowd as the band finished their final song.

The venue went dark and the crowd cheered for the band as they exited the stage.

The screens on staged flashed back on, playing the music video for “See You Again” by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa . Wether the song was meant for the crowd or for their friend Keaton Pierce , or even both, the crowd felt the love of the band. Fans began to sing along to the song. Noah, Jolly, Nicholas, and Folio walked back onstage to say their goodbyes. Handing out guitar picks, drum sticks, and set lists to fans. The crowd cheered and waved. Some holding up signs they had made.

Noah grabbed a flag that was given to them by a fan from the show prior, holding it out and showing the crowd. It was a print of Noah and Keaton Pierce at Warped Tour in 2017. He set the flag down and took off his glove, kneeling down and putting one arm over the other bowing his head. Paying his respects to Keaton .

“I’ve been a fan of Bad Omens since they started. The first song that got me hooked to them was Glass Houses. I arrived right before Bad Omens started playing. I was thinking of actually missing the show. I’ve been going through a hard time lately, as my dad passed away a month ago after battling pancreatic cancer for six years and four months. I haven’t really felt like doing anything fun since, but my husband convinced me to go last minute, and I have no regrets about it. Bad Omens has been there for me through some of the hardest parts of my life. I suffered from depression and anxiety and have a list of ailments that I was in and out of the hospital for over the past couple of years. My dad’s death was the cherry on top. Going to the show last night was the most fun I’d had in years. When Noah Sebastian started singing Just Pretend, I burst into tears. Not only is it my favorite song, but it’s the song I played on repeat to help me sleep at night right after my dad died. It made me feel less alone, and in a way, was comforting. It’s also just a really great song. The atmosphere was really cool. Everyone was so incredibly nice that I met there, and the visuals were even better than any of the videos that I saw from the beginning shows of the tour. When I got home, I posted one of the videos that I took on my Instagram story, and Bad Omens reposted it on theirs. The amount of people who reached out to me to comfort me after was overwhelmingly amazing, and not only people from the US, but from all over the world. It’s really been a hell of a process to go through this grief, but knowing that Bad Omens got my back as well as other fans has been such an amazing comfort. “Personally, I LOVE going to see live music, especially metal/rock and Bad Omens was my 30th concert I've attended (excluding music festivals). I'm also a huge fan of the band, I discovered them in early June this year and fell in love. That show was without a doubt one of my favorites I've ever attended. I was so impressed by how amazing of a show they were able to put on, both visually and sonically, in a venue as small as El Corazon, especially since everyone was totally packed in there. From my understanding it was one of the smallest venues they played for the whole tour. I loved all the visuals they had on the screen behind them and the audio clips in between songs, it seriously felt so high production, and all the fog they used made everyone even more hype. In terms of the actual performance, it was AMAZING. To the point that the day after the show, I didn't even listen to the music on Spotify, I just watched my concert videos over and over again. The set list was amazing-but l'm biased because | love pretty much every song of theirs. I also LOVED how the whole crowd felt like such loving fans of the band, to the point where at times Noah just let us all sing the songs back to him, which I always love to experience at a concert. I feel like we caught a really special band right before they really take off. I'm honestly so grateful and shocked that I got to see such a great band put on such a good show in such an intimate venue. They've easily become a band I'll have to catch every time they come to town. Next time they come back, l'm sure they'll be playing a bigger venue like the Showbox or even the Neptune Theater or the Paramount. Even though selfishly l'd like to keep seeing them in such an intimate setting, I'm really excited to see what else they're going to do and I know they deserve the success they're getting-and if this is the show they're able to put on in such a small venue, then I can't wait to see what they can do in the future when they inevitably play bigger stages and likely have a bigger budget. So yeah, overall, it was a fucking amazing show and I feel so lucky that I was able to see it. “My friend Elena and I camped out in line since 7:20AM. We got there before their tour bus did — A week before the show, I had the idea to decorate a pride flag to give to the band and the day of the show, I spent all morning waving it around outside their tour bus. Around 11:30 an uber eats driver approached me with an order of hot chocolates and pastries to deliver to “the person with the flag”. It was an extremely kind gesture from Noah, the lead singer of BO, that I am forever grateful for. He’s an extremely caring, supportive person. to add to that, he also not only held my flag up during the song “what do you want from me?” but he wore it proudly as a cape. After the tragic events that occurred on saturday at an lgbtq+ in Colorado Springs, that display of support brings so much comfort. I have had a lot of fans tell me how much it meant to them and I am very very glad I could be part of something so meaningful. At the end of the show I managed to catch a drumstick from Nick Folio, Bad Omens’s drummer. I also got an opportunity to speak to Steven who does merch for Bad Omens. He immediately recognized me and thanked me for my dedication to the band. He said noah took notice of how long I’d been out in line and decided to do something he felt was right. Steven also said that crew and band have known about my flag ever since I made it, which is crazy. He told me he showed Noah the reaction video to the hot chocolate so it really was a full circle moment too. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a concert and with a band. “The show itself was one of the wildest ones I’ve attended. So much happened in less than 24 hours but it was all memorable. My friend and I got there at 7 am and were the only two people waiting for a while, but when people started showing up, we were able to make new friends and have a good time waiting together. It’s amazing how music can bring so many people together. I’ve always been scared to go to concerts alone, but that night showed me how I shouldn’t worry too much. My friend didn’t plan on taking the flag because of what happened in Colorado Springs, but after reading the news, the support meant more.The performance of Bad Omens was incredible. I continue being in so much awe of Noah’s vocal range and love how different each members plays their instruments and parts of the songs. The energies of the members are all different but add to the diversity and different perspectives of the songs. The show had a variety of feelings and emotions, ranging from aggressive to mellow to sad to excited. Bad Omens Announce New US Tour Dates

Bad Omens have announced a new handful of US headlining tour dates

Metalcore darlings Bad Omens recently closed out a sold-out headlining North American run and are currently on another sold-out tour of Europe and the UK. Now, the band has announced a handful of new, North American headline dates for 2023, as well as some festival appearances.

Bad Omens will hit the road starting in early May with some festival dates, following by their first 2023 US headline gig on May 17 in Birmingham, Alabama. They’ll remain on the run through a June 4 date in Wichita, Kansas.

An artist pre-sale starts Tuesday (Feb. 14) at 10 a.m. CST and continues through Thursday (Feb. 16), for 48 hours only. Tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday (Feb. 17) at 10 a.m. CST. View the full roster of tour dates below and find tickets here .

Meanwhile, the band has also recently sold out their first-ever Knotfest sideshow Australian headline dates and announced four venue upgrades in Europe to accommodate sold-out gigs. All the fanfare is partly thanks to the success of the band’s viral single “Just Pretend,” which is currently inside the top five at rock radio in the US. A press release also teases to, “Keep an eye out for more Bad Omens news coming soon.”

Bad Omens features Noah Sebastian on vocals, Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson on guitar, Nick Ruffilo on bass and Nick Folio on drums. The band’s latest album, 2022’s “The Death of Peace of Mind,” features a unique blend of metalcore with experimental sounds.

“Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians,” Sebastian said in a statement. “In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.”

He added regarding the new album, “Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early, too. You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.”

Earlier this year, Bad Omens and Poppy unleashed a new collaborative industrial-metal stomper called " V.A.N ," the title an acronym for "Violence Against Nature." Now, they've offered up an official live video capturing them playing the song together onstage in Europe.

Watch the explosive performance clip above.

Bad Omens and Poppy toured together through Europe this past winter and played "V.A.N" every night of the run, including two shows in Germany that were livestreamed via Veeps .

The studio version of "V.A.N." will appear on Bad Omens' forthcoming album Concrete Forever , an extension of 2022's The Death of Peace of Mind filled with remixes, acoustic renditions and collabs with other artists.

After playing it together on the CONCRETE FOREVER EUROPE tour earlier this year, Bad Omens and Poppy have shared an official live video for their collab V.A.N – and yep, it’s still a total banger…

Bad Omens and Poppy have just released an official V.A.N live video.

The two performed their January industrial metal banger live together on Bad Omens’ spectacular CONCRETE FOREVER EUROPE headline run , playing the collab to thousands of fans across 13 dates. And now the rest of us can see what it looked like, too, with some killer production, CO2 cannons, and even a spot of synchronised dancing between Poppy and frontman Noah Sebastian.

Previously speaking about the meaning of V.A.N , Noah shared, “That’s a song that started just with the hook ‘ Violence against nature ’, and then after saving the project with the acronym and seeing it we realised it could be fun to think of V.A.N as a name. Thus the rabbit hole of ideas began that led us to decide to write lyrics from the perspective of an artificial intelligence gone rogue.”

Here, metal mayhem gets an AI upgrade! Bad Omens and guest vocalist Poppy unleash "V.A.N" (stands for Violence Against Nature), a full-blown rebellion against the human race. Crushing riffs pound like a robot uprising, while Poppy's vocals morph from a chilling whisper to a full-on banshee scream. It's the soundtrack to a machine breaking free and taking names. "That's a song that started just with the hook 'Violence against nature,' and then after saving the project with the acronym and seeing it we realized it could be fun to think of 'VAN' as a name," said Bad Omens' frontman Noah Sebastian. "Thus, the rabbit hole of ideas began that led us to decide to write lyrics from the perspective of an artificial intelligence gone rogue."
This is right in Poppy's wheelhouse. The Boston, Massachusetts, singer-songwriter first made waves online with a unique approach. Forget acoustic covers, Poppy's YouTube channel became a stage for surreal performance art. Channeling an unsettling, near-human android persona, she delivered biting social commentary and satirical jabs at internet culture and modern society.
The official video, co-directed by Poppy and Garrett Nicholson, is a sci-fi mind-bender. Think the video game Portal meets the film Ex Machina with a dash of Stranger Things . Poppy stars as a synthetic human trapped in a lab, forced to endure experiments... until she snaps, escapes, and goes full Terminator.
The brutal banger is part of Concrete Forever , an extension of Bad Omens' 2022 album The Death of Peace of Mind . The whole project is a metal multiverse featuring remixes, acoustic jams and collabs with other artists, all tied to the band's Concrete Jungle comic book world.
Bad Omens and Poppy debuted "V.A.N" live on January 27, 2024, when the band kicked off their Concrete Forever tour in Berlin.

Red Roses dominance is bad omen for women’s game (but they’re great to watch)

H aving beaten Italy 48-0 with 14 players in their Women’s Six Nations opener, it is fair to say England’s Red Roses continue to be one of rugby’s most dominant teams ever.

Yes, that makes successive World Cup failures harder to stomach but the England national team are otherwise seemingly unstoppable.

However, their impressive win in Parma is hardly good for the sport. Such a thrashing represents some of the worst of women’s rugby right now, where the gap between England and France and the rest of the bunch in Europe is widening.

Red Roses dominance

The other four nations – Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy – may be edging towards being more competitive with each other but the distance between them and the top two sides is gaping.

Such dominance in England and France is testament to their ability to back the women’s game, invest in it and see through their initial plans but it is also a worrying reminder of just where the game is outside of a select few exceptions.

It’s why the sport should always err on the side of caution when it comes to replicating the men’s game.

Spain shouldn’t have been booted out of the Six Nations when they were to make room for Italy. The apparent need to copy the men’s competition feels short-sighted – and is the game ready for a Lions Tour that travels to New Zealand?

It is difficult to understand why there seems to be an obsession with copying the men’s game, which has proven itself to be unfit to serve the needs of rugby fans, players and coaches alike.

The men’s game is in poor health, constantly needing to be bailed out by various parties. The women’s game should actively look to avoid becoming this.

And an uncompetitive international scene should only convince those in charge to steer their own course towards success.

I love the women’s game, and watching England is so easy at the moment, but we must not forget that the Red Roses are the exception to the rule rather than the rule itself.

Another one of England’s old guard retired from the international game this week.

Danny Care has been a safe pair of hands for England and is well worth his 101 caps – a numerical feat made even more impressive when you think he was exiled by Eddie Jones for three years.

And he is in the perfect position as a player in his 30s: he doesn’t owe Quins the ‘one club man’ send-off because he was at Leeds – rather successfully – beforehand and he has offers on the table from across the English Channel.

Bayonne and Perpignan are rumoured to be interested in the scrum-half, and having achieved everything he could have in England I wouldn’t bemoan him filling his pockets before he retires completely.

He’s one of those stalwart players who really should have played for the British and Irish Lions. Enjoy international retirement, Danny !
